Hearing Aid Repair-What You Should Know
There is a very important consideration that often gets overlooked when you consider hearing aid prices…what happens after you buy them.
Hearing aid technology is some of the most sophisticated technology available today. In a very small package, there is a very small and powerful computer, Bluetooth communication interface, audio processing, speakers, microphones and more. They are also exposed to moisture, perspiration, earwax, dust and everyday wear (for most 12-16 hours per day). Along with regular cleaning and maintenance, they will need adjustments, reprogramming and even repair.
The Part of the Price You May Not See
When you purchase hearing aids from a professional provider such as a Beltone Hearing Center, your are purchasing more than just the two hearing aids. You are also purchasing a lifetime of cleaning, care and regular maintenance. You are establishing a year’s long relationship with a local hearing care professional who can help keep your investment properly performing for years. All available nationwide at no additional cost to you.
Most common problems and services can be handled right in the office. Your aids can be professionally cleaned, receivers and other components can be checked, programming can be adjusted, and problems diagnosed. Again, all at no cost to you. After your warranty (most are two or three years) expires, those services are still provided at no cost. However, when a repair requires more extensive work, the hearing aid can be sent back to Beltone at a moderate cost.
That support has value!
This is one of the most important differences to consider when comparing a professionally fitted hearing aid with lower-priced products or discount services. The lowest price isn’t necessarily the lowest cost or the best value over the life of the hearing aids.
Before purchasing hearing aids, ask:
Who will take care of me when something goes wrong?
Will I have to pay for lifetime cleaning, maintenance?
My hearing will change over time. Will I be charged for updated hearing tests?
Is there charges for reprogramming?
How long is the warranty?
At Beltone, our goal isn’t simply to sell your hearing aids. It’s to help you hear better and keep you hearing better for years to come.
